ABOUT US
Donn Knepp moved to Las Vegas in 1962 as the first out-of-state recruited
baseball player at UNLV (then Nevada Southern University). After graduation
in 1967 he went back to his home state of Texas, then the Bay Area, before
returning to Las Vegas in 1970. It has been all Las Vegas since then.
Donn began compiling this photo and video collection while working at the Las
Vegas News Bureau for over 16 years. He worked both as a writer and as a
photographer while covering news worthy events up and down the Strip. His
book Las Vegas: The Entertainment Capital was the focus of a TV special in
1987, and is acknowledged as the definitive study on Las Vegas' "Golden Era"
of entertainment. Also an award-winning artist, Donn has illustrated several
magazine and program covers for various resort properties. Donn was heavily
involved in Las Vegas' Centennial Celebration in 2005. In between projects, he
worked as an Executive Casino Host at a Strip property.
